As I finished writing my first book I asked God, “What does You’re being the Lion of the Tribe of Judah look like in my life?” I was soon to find out.
I’d been asked to be a part of the Reconciliation Conference in San Antonio. I found myself impressed to share some words with the group. Somewhat frightened by the idea, I decided to write down what I felt God said.
As I walked into the room, I noticed a picture on the wall. It was a picture of a lion with a crown on his head, wings on his back and two chains hanging from his mouth. At the end of the chains, I saw two shackles. I thought, Does this picture represent the lion breaking the bondage from someone’s life?
Prior to the meeting, as I drove down the street, I said to God, “Are you sure this is what You want, for me to share what You gave me?” Just as I said it, I drove by a church sign and it read, “Stop vacillating.” I immediately knew, He had given me something to say, but it would take everything in me to do so.
As the meeting began, I felt tense, but yet knew God had called me to speak. I stood and began reading from my typed paper. As soon as I sat down, I felt relieved and peaceful, knowing I had been obedient even though it had been difficult.
The next week as I walked into the church once again, I took a second look at the picture of the lion. This time I saw two keys at the ends of the chains. Had the picture changed or had God given me spiritual sight in an unusual way? He revealed to me that these two keys, prayer and God’s Word, had the power to break the shackles.
I knew something had happened in my life that day as I met the Lion of the Tribe of Judah for who He is. And the pastor of the church, upon my sharing my testimony, gave me a smaller version of the same picture of the Lion that had been hanging in his office. To this day it hangs in my home as a reminder of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the all-powerful One.
Perhaps you’ve never known Him as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah? He longs for you to know Him in that way, especially if you have any areas of bondage you need to address. Freedom is a life-long process and there have been many areas in my own life where He’s had to reveal what the enemy has tried to conceal. I am grateful for His patience with His children and I pray today that you too may know the Lion of the Tribe of Judah whose come to set you free.
